＊「今年はずっと内にこもっている」「2月になった時に何かが変わると思った」って言うので、コロナ禍の歌かと思いました。ある意味そうなのかもなぁって気もする。この「友達以上の人が去ってしまった」というのは、恋が終わったという風にも読めますが、会えないでいる間に親しい人が病気で死んでしまったとも解釈できるように思えます。
＊調べてみると、
エドは、2022年2月に心停止により31歳で亡くなった友人で音楽起業家のジャマル・エドワーズに言及し、「ブルーはジャマルの色だったけど、今僕はそれしか感じない。音楽は癒しの助けになると思うから、これを乗り越えるために目を閉じながら踊っている」とメッセージを締めくくっている。

ということらしく、コロナと関係あるのかは不明ですが（その間会えなかったとか）、やはり友人を病気で失った、という事実が背景にあるようです。歌詞の

の部分は友人のことを言っているんですかね。意訳では、一般的な意味での「ブルー」として訳しました。
