＊MVを見ていて、これはジェンダーレスな曲だなーと思いました。誰から誰に向けたラブソングであってもいいというか。でも、make things physicalという言葉通り、友情とか広い意味での愛情じゃなくて肉体関係を伴う愛情なんだよね。
それを踏まえて最も悩んだのが一人称です。ジェンダーレスだと「わたし」－「あなた」が用いられやすいような気もするのですが(米津玄師の『Lemon』もそうだし)、それって男性ボーカルの場合かな？とも思って…。女性ボーカルがジェンダーレスな歌詞を歌う時、よく「ぼく」－「きみ」が使われるような。英語ならI-youでいいのに、困ったなーと。なので実験的に、一人称なしでやってみました。youは「あなた」かな…。
＊「我」みたいな古語とか、「オラ」とか「わぁ」とかある意味めちゃくちゃ方言の方がジェンダーレスでいいのかもしれません(笑)。でも私はあらゆる方言のノンネイティブなので、誰かのチャレンジをお待ちしております…。
＊The doors are openはなぜ複数形なんだろう？
＊サビはphysical-critical-typicalで韻を踏んでいて、だからリズムがメインで言葉を選んでいて意味は言葉通りじゃなくてもいいのかなって思ったので、勝手に意訳してます。
＊MV楽しそうでいいな。最後のキスシーンめっちゃときめいた。
＊この曲はglee S4で歌われていて知りました。S4のNDは集団で歌う歌がとても多いので最初はあまり気に留めていなかったのですが、メロディがすごく耳に残って、聴けば聴くほどハマる曲です。gleeのMVも見直すとNDが仲良くて楽しそうですごく好きです。
